Features & Functionality
Wix Vibe is a modern web development platform with several distinct features that set it apart.
Vibe AI
This is the core of the Wix Vibe platform. The Vibe AI uses a conversational interface that allows users to generate a “site blueprint” by simply typing in a prompt. The AI then uses this blueprint to create the website’s layout, content, and design automatically. This feature streamlines the initial building process. In many cases, it’s able to create a fully ready website that only needs minor modifications (for websites that aren’t quite complex to begin with).
Wix Vibe Editor
The Vibe Editor is a powerful tool for customizing the AI-generated site. While the AI provides the initial foundation, the editor gives users full control to refine and adjust every aspect of the website’s design. This includes themes, color palettes, typography, and even individual elements. It allows for a more hands-on approach after the AI has done the initial heavy lifting. But more importantly, you can continue making edits via prompts without the traditional drag-and-drop mechanism that most builders provide.
Headless Architecture
Wix Vibe is built on a headless architecture, separating the website’s backend (where data is stored) from its frontend (what the user sees). This gives designers and developers the flexibility to use the Wix backend, which includes powerful features like e-commerce, bookings, and content management, while using any frontend technology they prefer for the user-facing site.
Dynamic Content from CMS Collections
Wix Vibe works smoothly with the Wix Content Management System (CMS). Content is stored in CMS collections, and Vibe automatically updates the website pages based on this data. This means you don’t have to make manual changes when the data is updated. It is especially useful for dynamic elements, such as showing a personalized welcome message when a user logs in.
This feature is crucial for efficiently managing large amounts of content, as a single template can display an entire catalog of products, blog posts, or event listings.
Version History and Recovery
Like the standard Wix website builder, Wix Vibe includes a version history feature. It automatically saves different versions of the site as changes are made, allowing you to track progress and easily restore an earlier version if you need to undo unwanted edits or revert to a previous design.
Design & Template
Wix Vibe builds websites through prompts, so there are no templates to choose from. Unlike traditional builders, even those with AI features, you don’t need to pick a design from a library. Just enter a prompt describing the type of website you want, and the AI creates it for you. If you are unsure what to write, use example prompts for common website types.
When it comes to design, Wix Vibe still works with standard templates. The AI reads your prompt and matches it to the most suitable template, then builds your website around it.
Ease of Use
The Wix Vibe website builder is still in the beta phase, so many features have yet to be rolled out. Still, the very idea behind this platform is based on no-code convenience.
In fact, you don’t need to code or drag and drop elements to edit the website’s look or navigation. You can prompt the AI to do that for you, which makes things much easier. However, if you want more granular control, you can still make the edits manually.
Overall, the platform is very easy to use, especially for anyone who has been using Generative AI and is familiar with how to prompt AI models.
